Bio-Nano Research Facilities - Shared Research Facilities


         

Overview of Services

The WVU SRF BioNano Research Facilities facilitate research at the intersection of biology and nanomaterials. It's featured with a Q-Exactive Orbitrap mass spectrometer equipped with UHPLC, which is one of the top-end analytical instrument on market for proteomics, lipidomic and metabolomics. BNRF facility also provides user friendly instruments, such as CD spectrometer and spectrofluorometer for biological sample structure characterization, identification and quantitation. In addition, BNRF has cell culture room located in Evansdale campus and Downtown campus respectively, to assist cell culture related research projects. The BNRF has been in operation since 2012. It is funded by the National Science Foundation EPSCoR Research Infrastructure Improvement Cooperative Agreement #1003907, the state of West Virginia (WVEPSCoR via the Higher Education Policy Commission) and the WVU Research Corporation.

REQUEST TRAINING

NOTE! Your advisor or PI must ASSIGN AND APPROVE you as a user for you to be eligible for training.

Three types of training are provided:

    1. Mandatory lab and safety training, a pre-requisite for all other training
    2. Special safety training for cleanrooms and labs involving biologicals or radiologicals that may be a prerequisite for certain facilities
    3. Specific instrument training
