Electron Microscopy Facilities - Shared Research Facilities

Overview of Services

The WVU SRF Electron Microscopy Facilities is located in the Engineering Sciences Building (ESB). These multiuser laboratories attract people from many different research areas, due to its wide range of capabilities, reasonable costs and individual hands-on training. The EMF is fundamental for structural analyses of different materials, going from bulk samples to biological. Sample preparation can be developed on site and experienced staff is available to assist users with all their requirements.

NOTE! Your advisor or PI must ASSIGN AND APPROVE you as a user for you to be eligible for training.

Three types of training are provided:

    1. Mandatory General Lab and Chemical Safety training, a pre-requisite for all other training
    2. Special safety training for cleanrooms and labs involving biologicals or radiologicals that may be a prerequisite for certain facilities
    3. Specific instrument training
